About the Job
The KFUPM Education Innovation Lab is building a multidisciplinary team to drive transformative teaching and learning through experimentation, evidence-based practice, and technology-enabled innovation. The Lab operates as a testbed for scalable educational solutions, bringing together educators, researchers, and technologists to improve learning effectiveness, engagement, and accessibility across the university and beyond.
We are seeking experienced education professionals to design, test, and scale innovative, evidence-based teaching and learning solutions in collaboration with faculty at the KFUPM Education Innovation Lab.
Applicants with a relevant academic background and experience in learning design and educational innovation within higher education STEM disciplines are encouraged to apply.
Open Position
Education Innovation Specialist
The Education Innovation Specialist plays a key role in advancing teaching and learning innovation across the university. The position supports the design, piloting, evaluation, and scaling of evidence-based, technology-enabled, and student-centered teaching practices. Working closely with faculty and technologists, the specialist helps bridge the gap between educational research and classroom practice to improve student learning outcomes at scale.
Key Responsibilities
- Participate in identifying and evaluating emerging pedagogical models and learning technologies.
- Support faculty in integrating suitable models and learning technologies to design and implement engaging learning experiences.
- Collaborate with faculty to design and implement solutions to their educational challenges grounded in evidence-based pedagogy and sound learning theories.
- Lead instructional innovation initiatives to pilot and scale teaching solutions aligned with KFUPM’s academic strategy.
- Explore and pilot the use of AI in solving educational challenges, including enhancing student engagement, providing student feedback, and increasing the efficiency of course development and assessment.
- Apply learning analytics and assessment strategies to align innovation initiatives with institutional priorities and evaluate their impact using data.
- Develop practical learning design resources, guides, and toolkits for faculty
- Design and deliver faculty professional development workshops and learning communities
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Education, Learning Design, Instructional Design, Educational Psychology, or related field (PhD preferred)
- Experience designing high-quality learning experiences in higher education across multiple modalities, primarily in classroom-based courses.
- Proven success in collaborating with faculty and instructional teams
- Strong working knowledge of digital learning technologies and LMS platforms
